Mersea Island / Essex Island
Venue: Rewsalls Lane East Mersea, East Mersea CO5 8SX
Date: 14th - 15th August 2026. With Friday night accommodation.
Join us for a MACS weekend on Mersea Island, packed with exciting activities like archery, climbing, obstacle courses, and more! Enjoy group sessions, shared meals, and time to connect with fellow members.
What to Expect
We’re excited to return to Mersea Island for a MACS only weekend and we’d love for you to join us! While there may be other groups on-site, all activities will be reserved exclusively for MACS groups.
We’re thrilled to be offering Friday night accommodation this year, giving you even more time to relax, connect, and enjoy the experience.
Activities include:
- Archery
- Adventure course
- Climbing
- High ropes
- Aerial course
- Pedal karts
- Zip wire
Activities will run throughout the day, with timed sessions for each group and plenty of opportunities to connect, share stories, and enjoy the experience together.
The centre is fully accessible, regardless of vision level, and activities are suitable for wheelchair users.
And if that’s not enough to entice you, lunch and dinner are included!
Who Can Attend?
This event is open to anyone aged 8+.
Unlike Calvert, this is a family-focused event, meaning young people do not attend alone. We welcome:
- MACS children and young people
- MACS adults
- Parents, carers, and siblings
You’ll be asked at sign-up whether you’d like to participate in activities – and everyone is encouraged to join in!
Please note: Due to safety equipment and insurance requirements, we are unable to accommodate children under 8 years old.
Supervision & Support
MACS staff and volunteers will be present, but this is a family-led event.
We kindly ask that:
- All young people are fully supervised at all times
- Families assist with equipment where needed
Mersea’s trained staff will also be on hand, but as many groups will include a high proportion of MACS members, additional support may occasionally be required.
Cost
We’re pleased to offer this event free of charge.
To help keep events accessible for everyone, please note:
If you are unable to attend, we ask that you give sufficient notice. If a space cannot be filled, we may:
- Ask for a contribution towards your place, or
- Require upfront payment for future events
Booking
We need to meet minimum numbers for this event, so please sign up as soon as possible to secure your place.
